Thiacalix[n]arene (TCnA) are composed benzene rings, linked via sulfur bridges, which itself can make host-guest complexation with metal cations because sulfide functional groups has affinity for metal cations. TC6A and TC6A derivatives show the remarkable high affinity for Pd and Zr with high selectivity. These compounds such as TC6A and TC6A derivatives are expected to be new extracting reagents to separate particular rare metals from various rare ones, with high selectivity.
A method for preparing a miniature solder specimen the cross-section of which has concentric layers of Cu/Sn IMCs and a data processing method based on the rule of mixture were proposed. By combining these methods, some tensile deformation characteristics of two intermetallic compounds such as Cu3Sn and Cu6Sn5 were successfully evaluated.
